Nicole Fairbrother - Biography

Nicole Fairbrother is an actress and filmmaker, known for Monster (2015), Animism (2012) and For One Night Only (2010).

Nicole was raised by her strong independent mother who worked full time and her two older sisters who dragged her with them everywhere embedding the culture and music of the seventies deep into her young brain. It wasn't until Nicole was five and met her step-father who soon adopted her, that her world quickly changed. They moved from the city into the country and life on a dairy farm began. Sneakers turned into gum boots and bicycles turned into motorcycles and tractors.

Small town B.C. was quiet and there weren't a lot of kids. Nicole became her dad's sidekick, and when they weren't checking out tractors or cows, "little puddins" as he called her, was reading, watching movies, or closely observing her larger than life family.

Music slowly started to become a big part of Nicole's life. The music that she had always loved and sang now came to life with the gift of a guitar from her parents. Nicole quickly began to write her own music. Even though she was dreadfully shy, it wasn't long before she was on stage performing. She often received standing ovations although she usually ran off the stage before she could notice them.

Nicole went on to study Psychology and focused on raising her family. After the sudden death of a close family member, Nicole found solace in the form of writing poems about it. With Nicole's permission, a family member submitted one of Nicole's poems. It quickly became published and Nicole began to receive letters from fans moved by her words. Nicole realized she needed to pursue this passion.

The writing led to acting which led to directing and producing.

Nicole continues making films with a ridiculously supportive film community and a completely irreverent sense of humour. Together they open up doors far bigger than even the largest barn doors on her family farm.
