A Belgian citizen, of semi Dutch heritage, Robin Pront is known for his straight forward no-nonsense style. He rose to prominence with his first short film Plan B, a shortfilm about the drugscene in Antwerp and its effects on the main characters. The film won the award for best short movie of the year at the critically acclaimed Leuven Film Festival, as well as the Public's Choice award. Having quickly made a name for himself, his next movie about football hooliganism with leading Belgian movie star Matthias Schoenaerts received praise from critics around.
His love for football and a lively lifestyle are often found in his movies, as was the case with his last movie. Football being an integral part of his life, he is an avid FC Barcelona fan. It remains to be seen where his career will lead him, but the general opinion is RB will offer the Belgian and international filmscene something different, and prove to be a breath of fresh air, in an increasingly action and comedy oriented film industry.
